Our hair and nails are in a constant process of growth and renewal. If an old hair falls out, a new one usually grows back in its place. However, this renewal process takes between 1.5 and 3 months. A single hair grows about 10 mm each month, while a healthy nail grows up to 1 mm per week. It takes over three months for a completely lost fingernail to regrow.
